Technical Communication (TCM)

Engineer dynamic technical communication for the future! Make the world make sense.

Rapidly advancing technology increases the need to communicate complex technical information effectively to a variety of audiences and users. Technical communicators use technology to create necessary resources such as user manuals, online help, websites, training materials, and specifications, among many other technical communication products.

In addition to many courses for non-majors, the Technical Communication program offers a Bachelor of Science degree (120 credit hours) and a Certificate (19 credit hours) that include these great features:

  • Flexible curriculum with face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses
  • Curriculum that responds to the needs of STEM employers (science, technology, engineering, and math)
  • Transferable credits from many Ivy Tech degrees
  • Second major options for many IUPUI degrees
  • Applied industry projects and internships

  • Coursework in designing, developing, and editing technical communication products
